  15. As many of you know, Gateway 2000 has purchased all rights and
  16. technology to the Amiga computer! Gateway 2000 has also established
  17. Amiga International, Inc. as the worldwide sales organization with
  18. Petro Tyschtschenko as President.
  19.  
  20. Team AMIGA is excited by these developments and feels that the
  21. time is close for us to realize Rick Lembree's dream of offering
  22. our assistance to Amiga International and Gateway 2000 as their 
  23. "official" Amiga Worldwide User Group! There is currently no 
  24. one group that represents so many Amiga users worldwide and 
  25. we encourage others to join us now!

  35. In the FidoNet AMIGA echo, we started our own "kick in the pants"
  36. response to IBM's TEAM OS/2. It has taken off like wildfire! We'd
  37. like to extend an invitation to every Amiga devotee, everywhere! We
  38. have over 2500 members from countries worldwide ... from Fido,
  39. Usenet, the on-line services, nets and bbs's all over the world.
  40. Some of our members do not have Internet/Fido access, but STILL
  41. they support the Amiga in their local User Groups and on their
  42. local bbs! Hundreds of User Groups, Amiga authors and Amiga companies
  43. worldwide have registered with us to further enhance the support we 
  44. offer Gateway 2000 and Petro Tyschtschenko! You will find Team AMIGA 
  45. logo's and links on many World Wide Web pages! We encourage others 
  46. to do the same!

  48. It's FREE! There are NO dues! There are NO rules! There are only three
  49. officers (Gary Peake-Coordinator, Gary Caine-Asst. Coordinator, 
  50. Asha Develder-Asst. Coordinator)! We are are a worldwide group of 
  51. Amiga enthusiasts who are willing to support the user base, third 
  52. party Amiga developers, commercial Amiga companies, pd/shareware/commercial 
  53. Amiga programmers, and, of course, the Amiga's parent companies, Gateway
  54. 2000 and Amiga International Inc.! We do this by paying our registrations
  55. and by buying Amiga every chance we get! As a group, we enjoy our
  56. Amiga's and use them in every facet of computing from casual home
  57. use to commercial applications. Many of our members are the programmers
  58. who have kept the platform alive while waiting for something GOOD to happen
  59. for the Amiga!

  63. To join, all you have to do is:

  67. 1)  Be an Amiga enthusiast willing to talk about the virtues of the
  68. Amiga computer whenever possible to those who are interested in computers.

  70. 2)  If you decide to join, fill out the application below and send it
  71. to me so I can add your information to our growing database. This database 
  72. is being kept by me and has been forwarded to Amiga International,Inc.
  73. (Petro) in hopes that they will decide to pick up the ball and run with it.
  74. This database may also be shared with Amiga support companies so that they
  75. have an up to date listing of Amiga users worldwide. This means you may get
  76. commercial solicitations from AMIGA companies offering specials or new
  77. product listings!

  79. One objective of Team AMIGA, of course, is to get 
  80. as many Amiga enthusiasts worldwide to make a statement of support, but 
  81. another objective, is to show Amiga International, Inc. how much of a 
  82. mistake it would be to not adequately support Amiga computer users and 
  83. third party companies worldwide, especially in the production of desktop 
  84. Amigas.

  86. 3) Always acknowledge that Rick Lembree was the one who started all this! 
  87. Without Rick's solid dedication, enthusiasm, and determination to make 
  88. Team AMIGA happen, none of this would have been possible. We miss you Rick!

  90. 4) Know and understand that your stats will be in a database kept
  91. by me (Gary Peake) and not released to anyone without general
  92. consensus of the members (except as noted). Team AMIGA reserves the 
  93. right to release this database to any AMIGA related company for the 
  94. purpose of contacting Team AMIGA members with specials on hardware, 
  95. software or other computer related products.

  97. 5)Team AMIGA understands that due to company policy or other work 
  98. related issues, it may NOT be possible for every member to display
  99. "Team AMIGA" in his or her online signature and/or to constantly be 
  100. extolling the virtues of the Amiga computer. Some of our most ardent 
  101. supporters are in this predicament and Team AMIGA welcomes them as 
  102. HONORARY MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING and will continue to seek their advice 
  103. and consent on the directions Team AMIGA should take to enhance the 
  104. future of our platform. These members stats may, at their request, 
  105. be kept confidential.
